Tas unemployment rate steady
FEBRUARY jobs figures are in, and it’s good news for our state.
The Tasmanian unemployment rate held steady in February at 7.1% in trend terms, according to the latest ABS statistics.
In February the number of employed Tasmanians remained at 232,800 in trend terms, with the number of people in full time jobs rising from 147,500 to 147,600.
The participation rate fell slightly in trend terms from 60.3% to 60.2%.
From January to February the number of unemployed people dropped from 17,900 to 17,800.
Nationally the unemployment rate remained the same in February at 5.4%.
