Child Protection After Hours Policy Update

AFTER many months of consultation between your union , Child Protection Management, CPSU Members and Delegates the After Hours Emergency Service Child Protection Policy has now been finalised.

The After Hours Policy (AH Policy) has been developed to ensure that Departmental aspects of Occupational Health and Safety are met; in particular the fatigue and working arrangements of on-call Child Protection  workers; due to tighter restrictions as part of the new Workplace Health & Safety Act.

There’ll be training on the implementation of the AH policy for all areas.  The policy will be reviewed in the next 6 months, so the CPSU strongly urges relevant Members to provide any feedback on the process within this time, whether good or bad.  Your CPSU can certainly highlight any issues or practice concerns as they are arise.

If you work in this area and have any concerns or would like to provide your feedback in regards to implementation please feel free to contact Organiser Sarah Miller on s.miller@tas.cpsu.com.au or 6234 1708.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in this process.
