CPSU survey shows women are working more
THE National CPSU’s What Women Want survey investigates women’s views on issues that affect their work, such as overtime, flexible working arrangements and the availability of training and development.
Almost three in five women said they worked additional hours on a regular basis. The annual survey showed one in two women who working additional hours reported they are doing so just to get their work done. Nearly half of respondents reported they had little or no influence over their workload.
The survey saw the highest response ever, with 13,042 women taking part. The results will help inform CPSU’s campaigns and advocacy with government. Respondents worked in the Australian Public Service, Northern Territory Public Service, Australian Capital Territory Public Service or in the private sector.
