Kevin slams Aurora cuts

UNIONS Tasmania chief Kevin Harkins described the move to axe 45 frontline Aurora jobs as treachery. He said that after these experienced workers were given their marching orders, Aurora managers would call in private contractors to do their jobs at a higher cost. “These cuts are privatisation by stealth, they are happening under the nose of Bryan Green and he is either too lazy or too gutless to do anything about them, he said. “Aurora’s overpaid and incompetent managers are running rings around this Minister. They’ve figured out this bloke has got no clue.” He said the decision was simply bizarre in the middle of a government-commissioned industry review. “Expect long power outages because there is no one left to fix things when they break.”
