Union submission to awards review
IN THEIR submission to Fair Work Australia’s Modern Awards Review, unions are keen to improve workers’ rights. They are calling for the standardisation of public holiday entitlements for all workers and recommend Fair Work Australia to ensure all adult apprentices earn at least the minimum wage in their industry, which would benefit more than 200,000 workers. ACTU Assistant Secretary Tim Lyons said the submission would focus on a positive agenda for all workers, in contrast to employers who are seeking to worsen conditions for workers.
