Parks and Wildlife Inquiry: have your say

THE CPSU has been asked to make a submission to a Legislative Council inquiry into the operation and administration of the Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife Services (PWS). This inquiry comes after concerns arising from budget cuts as well as the possibility of PWS gaining responsibility for additional land as a result of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Tasmanian Forests. Submissions must be presented by next Friday 27 April.

The CPSU is keen to hear from those who’d like to contribute to our submission, and has already asked for feedback from Parks and Wildlife Members. If other CPSU Members would like to include their concerns relating to the terms of reference, they can email Organiser Leah Cauchi on for more information.

We’d like know if you think current staffing/budgets are sufficient to manage the existing estate; what additional resources would be needed to manage a further 500,000 hectares of land; and what infrastructure issues will need to be addressed in the next five years. Your feedback is appreciated.
