CPSU farewells union stalwart Neville Rayner
TODAY we sadly say goodbye to Organiser Neville Rayner who’s played an invaluable role in recruiting new Members.
Before working with us, Neville was a CPSU Delegate for 20 years at TAFE Tasmania and the Tasmanian Polytechnic.
“During this time I contacted the CPSU five times about various issues and they always did an excellent job sorting things out.”
After resigning from the Polytechnic at the start of 2011, Neville began working for the CPSU in October.
”I wanted to work there both for my career and to give something back after the help they gave me as a Delegate. My job was to recruit new Members, which I think I did very well and I really enjoyed,” Neville said.
“There’s a social work aspect to it, listening to Members and their concerns. I’m grateful for the experience I’ve had at the CPSU, and I hope to possibly continue to work in unions in the future. I’d like to thank the CPSU for the experience and the trust they put in me. The staff have been great to work with and helpful in showing me the ropes.”
Neville’s made a real difference to the union in his role as a Delegate and active Union Member, and his recruiting efforts for the CPSU have really strengthened our union. We wish him all the best.
