Sad day as Storm leaves CPSU
STORM Hankin has worked at the Hobart office for just over four years, but today is her last day with her ‘second family’ before she moves to Queensland’s Gold Coast.
In those four years Storm underwent an amazing transformation from someone who was very quiet and shy to a confident, skilled and self-assured young woman who became a vital part of the union.
“I started off as a trainee receptionist and did my certificate three in business and then went through the ranks to become the admin assistant, where I’ve had to deal with all parts of the union and talk to Members, which I really enjoyed.”
Her role gave Storm a great overview of the union and how its various parts slot together, and there have been many highlights for Storm over the years.
“It’s been great watching all the campaigns we’ve focused on and getting better rights for our Members. Probably one of the highlights was the PSUWA08 campaign – it was a big one, which we won awards for.”
“I’ve been here for so long and we’re all so close, so I’ll miss everyone. It’s a great place to work.”
But Storm is excited about her new start in Queensland and though she’ll be sorely missed we wish her the best and are keen to hear about her new adventures in Queensland.
PS Storm, say hi to ex-colleague Jess from us, but don’t let her lead you astray… too much 😉
We welcome Lauren Miller who’ll be stepping into Storm’s position on Tuesday June 12.
