New data on job vacancies
ABS JOB vacancy stats are in for the May quarter.
In Tasmania job vacancies increased by a tiny margin from the last quarter, from 1900 in February to 2000 in May 2012.
Our state’s public sector saw job vacancy numbers drop slightly from 300 in February 2012 to 200 in May.
Tasmania’s private sector saw a lift in job vacancies from the February to March quarter this year from 1600 to 1800.
In Australia the May quarter saw a 2.6% drop in job vacancies to 174,700.
The Australian private sector saw a decrease of 2.6% from February to May this year, while the public sector saw a 3.1 % drop in vacancies over the same period.
