The Happiness Project

KICKSTART Arts along with local councils and health and education services found out what happiness means to Tasmanians in six communities for the Happiness Project.

Travelling to Dover, Cygnet, Glenorchy, Oatlands, Levendale and Flinders Island, Kick Start produced a series of heart-warming films that tell the stories of 37 Tasmanians, and these were shown in Parliament House yesterday.

This great community initiative involved 938 Tasmanians, and the project team also worked with the community to create a self-powered “eco-cinema” called the Happiness Pod to screen the films in.

Kickstart Arts is an independent arts company based in Hobart that works with communities statewide to produce arts projects.

Anyone can attend free screenings of the Happiness Project between 10am-10pm on Sept 14-15 and 10am-4pm on Sept 16 in the Happiness Pod at Salamanca Lawns, Hobart. Find out more here
