Service Tasmania cuts

THE move to cut hours at Service Tasmania shops around the state means longer queues for Tasmanians.

Twenty two of the 27 shops will have hours cut making it harder for full-time workers or people with school-aged children to access services such as sitting a driver’s test, renewing a licence, accessing Centrelink services or lodging a rental bond. The CPSU, with support of our Members, is launching a state wide campaign to get the Government to reverse this decision.

Service Tasmania shops set to lose opening hours:

Whitemark, Currie: 2 hours;

Oatlands, Scottsdale, Deloraine: 1 hour 30 mins;

Hobart: 1 hour 15 mins;

Beaconsfield, Campbell Town, St Helens, Sheffield: 1 hour;

Launceston, Burnie, Devonport: 45 mins;

New Norfolk, Sorell, Smithton, Rosny, Glenorchy, Huonville, Kingston: 30 mins;

Ulverstone: 15 mins.
