Have your say: Local government electoral changes
CONSULTATION started today on proposed changes to electoral arrangements for Tasmanian local governments. The changes include: Council opt-in compulsory voting, prohibiting dual representation so elected councillors are unable to concurrently hold a seat in state parliament, and four year terms for Mayors and Deputy Mayors rather than two years.
