Have your say: Local government electoral changes

CONSULTATION started today on proposed changes to electoral arrangements for Tasmanian local governments. The changes include: Council opt-in compulsory voting, prohibiting dual representation so elected councillors are unable to concurrently hold a seat in state parliament, and four year terms for Mayors and Deputy Mayors rather than two years. You can find the consultation paper here Comments are invited until 31 October.
