ABC News Tasmania: Eight months for guard assault
A Tasmanian prisoner who spat in a guard’s face has had eight months added to his jail sentence.
Nathan Michael Green, 26, pleaded guilty in the Hobart Magistrates Court to attacking the guard in April this year.
The court heard Green spat directly into the guard’s face and hit him in the head.
The spittle then ran into the guard’s mouth and down his throat.
Green was escorted to court by three prison guards in full protective clothing armed with tasers.
Two years ago a charge against Green of assaulting another prison guard was dismissed on a technicality after he was charged under the wrong act.
