Asbestos Awareness Week
IT’S Asbestos Awareness Week.
Asbestos is linked with cancers and other diseases, and it’s left a terrible legacy in Australia.
According to Asbestos Free Tasmania, statistics are beginning to surface to show a new wave of the disease mainly due to Do-It-Yourself home renovations.
The week is about raising awareness about asbestos and expressing concern about the prevalence of the substance in our buildings.
So help raise awareness by talking about it with your friends, family and colleagues.
Don’t forget to pick up you blue Asbestos Awareness Week Ribbon and wear it.
Go to www.asbestosawareness.com.au to find out more.
Asbestos Awareness Week runs until December 1.
Being a union member is a bit like having insurance for your job. It’s like health insurance - you take it out just in case. It’s always good to have that support network to fall back on and know that the people involved with the union will go into bat for you – they won’t hold back they’ll do everything they possibly can for you. That’s why I joined the union in the first place. Being tax deductible and all the Member benefits – it was a no brainer for me.Tom
