New education and work data
NEW ABS statistics show almost 60% of Australians now have a non-school qualification like a degree or certificate.
The Education and Work report shows there’s been a 12% increase in these qualifications since 2011.
From 2001-12 post-graduate degrees have almost tripled, Bachelor degrees are up 25%.
The statistics reveal more men than women have non-school qualifications but women have a higher number of bachelor degrees and higher qualifications.
For those in the labour force aged 16-64, 19% were enrolled in study in May 2012.
