Job vacancies February 2013
JOB vacancies remained static in Tasmania’s Public Sector from November 2012 to February 2013, new ABS data shows.
In the public sector job vacancies were steady at 300.
The private sector’s a very different story, however, with vacancies increasing from 1800 to 1900 in the same period.
This accounted for most of the change in the Tasmanian figures, with vacancies increasing from 2100 to 2200 between November and February.
As a nation, Australia recorded a drop in job vacancies during this time, down 6% to 155,300.
Vacancies dropped 10% in the public sector, now at 10,900, and 6% in the private, now 144,300.
