Employment data released today
AUSTRALIAN Bureau of Statistics FIGURES out today showed that of the 11.5 million people employed in November 2012, 63% (7.3 million) were employees with paid leave entitlements, such as sick and holiday leave.
However, almost 2.2 million employees had no paid leave entitlements.
The Forms of Employment survey also found:
For both male and female employees, the occupation group with the highest proportion of paid leave entitlements was managers
39% of employees had some say in their start and finish times
69% worked weekdays only while 30% worked both weekdays and weekends.
An estimated 70% of employees worked full-time in their main job, with 90% of these employees having leave entitlements. However of those who were employed part time, 47%% had paid leave entitlements.
