Job vacancies: May 2013
JOB vacancies have dropped by 500 in Tasmania and are down overall nationally, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics figures released today.
In February 2013 there were 2200 job vacancies in total, which fell to 1700 in May.
Despite this decline, public sector vacancies in the state remained the same from February to May at 300.
The state’s private sector job vacancies explained the overall decline, dropping from 1900 in February to 1400 in May.
In Australia total job vacancies fell by 9% in May to 138,700.
Nationally private sector vacancies dropped by 9% in this period to 127,900. Public Sector vacancies also dropped 5% between February and May to 10,800.
