May job figures out now
THE Latest employment figures are in for May.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics Labour Force May 2013 shows:
The unemployment rate remained at 7.3% in trend terms, with seasonally adjusted figures showing a drop from 7.5-7.3% for May.
From April to May the Participation rate was steady at 60.1% in trend terms and increased in seasonally adjusted terms from 59.5% to 60.4%.
EMPLOYED TOTAL PERSONS
For May the total number of employed people in Tasmania increased by 100 in trend figures from 231,700 to 231,800. Seasonally adjusted data also records a rise from 230,100 to 232, 800.
EMPLOYED FULL TIME – TOTAL PERSONS
Full time employed Tasmanians dropped from 145,400 to 145,100 from April to May in trend terms. However seasonally adjusted data shows a rise from 143,300 to 146,000.
UNEMPLOYED – TOTAL PERSONS
Trend data shows an increase in the total number of unemployed persons in the state, rising from 18,300 to 18,400. Seasonally adjusted data records a drop from 18,700 to 18,300 in the number of unemployed Tasmanians.
Nationally, the unemployment rate fell by 0.1% to 5.5%.
