Hamper delivered to CPSU Member
TODAY David Bingham received a Tasmanian Gourmet Gifts hamper (pictured above with CPSU Organiser Ruby Thomas-Thompson).
David was one of the randomly selected State Service employees who participated in the workplace satisfaction survey who were lucky enough to win a hamper.
He’s worked in the State Service for about 20 years, currently in the Department of Premier and Cabinet in the position of Senior Parliamentary Council.
This role entails drafting legislation from various departments before it then goes to parliament.
The work that comes across David’s desk is diverse, from Mental Health to urban drainage.
The amount of time it takes to draft legislation is variable. Sometimes there are little amendments that only take two weeks to draft, while other legislation can take many years.
It’s a satisfying job, especially when the legislation passes parliament. It is satisfying knowing what you are doing is influencing people’s lives.
David signed up with the CPSU when he started in the State Service, a recipient of a 20 year member badge. He joined because he didn’t like the idea of getting benefits others were paying for.
The CPSU hopes David enjoys his Tasmanian Gourmet Gifts hamper, it was great to learn more about you and your job!
