Lack of training in ethics and integrity
IN ITS annual report the Integrity Commission warns that Tasmanian public service workers lack training in ethics and integrity.
The Commission’s Executive Officer Diane Merryfull told the ABC this lack of training increases the risk of misconduct.
“There’s a lot of work to do, not only in terms of investigating misconduct but there’s an awful lot of work to do in terms of educating public servants on ethics and integrity because prevention’s better than cure,” Ms Merryfull said.
The report shows that in the last financial year the commission received more than 60 serious conduct complaints.
