Labour Force November 2013

TODAY’s Labour Force showed that the unemployment rate took a very slight drop in Tasmania from October to November.

UNEMPLOYMENT RATE

From October to November the unemployment rate dropped very slightly from 8% – 7.9%.

 

PARTICIPATION RATE

The participation rate during this same period fell slightly from 59.8% to 59.7%.

 

EMPLOYED TOTAL PERSONS

From October to November the total number of employed persons dropped from 228,800 to 228,500.

 

EMPLOYED FULL TIME – TOTAL PERSONS

The number of Tasmanians employed full time Tasmanians remained steady at 144,800 from October to November.

 

UNEMPLOYED – TOTAL PERSONS

During the same period the total number of unemployed persons in Tasmania fell from 20,000 to 19,600.

 

POPULATION

During this time the release shows the civil population in Tasmania dropped again, from 415,900 to 415,600

 

NATIONALLY

Australia wide, the unemployment rate increased by less than 0.1% to 5.8%, in seasonally adjusted terms.
