Labour Force December 2013

TODAY’s Labour Force showed that  from November to December the unemployment rate dropped.

UNEMPLOYMENT RATE

From November to December the unemployment rate dropped from 7.8-7.7%.

 

PARTICIPATION RATE

The participation rate during this same period dropped from 59.5-59.3%

 

EMPLOYED TOTAL PERSONS

From November to December the total number of employed persons dropped from 227,900 to 227,600.

 

EMPLOYED FULL TIME – TOTAL PERSONS

The number of Tasmanians employed full time  increased from 145,400 to 145,900 from November to December.

 

UNEMPLOYED – TOTAL PERSONS

During the same period the total number of unemployed persons in Tasmania fell from 19,300 to 18,800.

 

POPULATION

During this time the release shows the civil population in Tasmania dropped from 415,600 to 415,300.

 

NATIONALLY

Australia wide, the unemployment rate remained at 5.8% in seasonally adjusted figures.
