Labour Force June 2014: Tasmanian employment figures

HERE’S what the latest ABS Labour Force  report revealed for Tasmania in June:

 

UNEMPLOYMENT RATE

The unemployment rate was steady for June at 7.4%.

 

PARTICIPATION RATE

The participation rate was up very slightly from May, increasing from 60.9% to 61%.

 

EMPLOYED TOTAL PERSONS

The total number of people employed rose from 236,200 to 236,700.

 

EMPLOYED FULL TIME – TOTAL PERSONS

From May to June the number of Tasmanians employed full time increased from 153,300 to 153,700.

 

UNEMPLOYED – TOTAL PERSONS

During this period the total number of people who were unemployed stayed the same for June, with 18,900 Tasmanians without jobs

 

POPULATION

The state’s population increased from 419,200 in May to 419,400 in June.

 

NATIONALLY

Nationally the unemployment rate was up 0.1 percentage points in June, sitting at 6%.
