Forestry Tas: Statewide Member meetings scheduled

THE CPSU and AWU will hold joint Member meetings over the coming days and weeks.

These meetings seek Member input and support on what actions they believe are appropriate so we can send a clear message to Forestry Tasmania (FT), and get them to seriously negotiate the new Enterprise Agreement.

See the meeting dates and venues below.

Perth office: Friday 12 September, 11.15am.

Geeveston: Monday 15 September, 7.20am.

Hobart office: Tuesday 16 September, 2pm.

Derwent West Region (National Park): Tuesday 23 September, 8am

North West: to be confirmed

It was clear that negotiations were broken when FT refused properly consider to the claims of its staff on adoption of a classification structure based on the Tasmanian State Service. Instead, FT advised that it preferred a rollover of current arrangements for 18 months. See their full response below.

It’s vital Members attend these meetings and give input into the strategy we take, so FT seriously considers the claims of its staff and their working conditions. The meetings are for Members only, FT employees who aren’t Members can sign up on the meeting day. Or if you know colleagues who aren’t Members, encourage them to join here.

If you have questions please speak to your local CPSU Delegate or contact James Roberts at j.roberts@tas.cpsu.com.au  or on 6234 1708.
