TasCOSS urges Gov to reconsider plans to axe Tas Community Fund board

LAST week the Tasmanian Council of Social Services asked the Premier Will Hodgman to think again about axing the Tasmanian Community Fund’s independent board.

TasCOSS Chief Executive Tony Reidy expressed concern to the Premier in a letter, which expressed the need for an independent board, and the difference the TCF’s made to some of the most disadvantaged Tasmanians.

“The TCF Board’s autonomy in its operation and quality of its decision making has also been enhanced by the robust, transparent processes it undertakes, with the TCF’s track record in funding allocations seen as fair to all applicants, large and small,” Mr Reidy said in the letter.
