Go Home on Time Day
TODAY is Go Home on Time Day. In its sixth year, it’s about reclaiming work-life balance. The Australia Institute runs the initiative, which promotes health and well-being. Australians are working some of the longest hours in the world, and often overtime is unpaid. Working these extra hours incurs a range of costs – time with friends and family, caring, increased stress and anxiety and health issues.

Although early days, our public sector survey is showing that a large number of Members are working more hours than they should, are available to answer their phones and emails outside work hours, even though they’re often not paid an availability allowance.
Why not go home on time today and encourage Members in your workplace to do the same!
