Stop the Medicare sell-off!
MEDICARE is an iconic part of our health system but it’s under threat.
This week, the Public Sector Union will be escalating its campaign in Tasmania to stop this privatisation. The CPSU will be out and about, talking to the community and to the Tasmanians whose jobs are directly threatened by this proposal.
The Medicare sell-off proposal directly threatens the jobs of thousands of public sector workers, mostly women and many in regional and rural areas. This is no small matter in a place like Tasmania, where stable and secure employment is so important. This proposal is the beginning of the end of Medicare as we know it, but is also opens the door to the privatisation of other public services
You might’ve also caught some TV ads running about the campaign. Watch it here.
PSU National Secretary Nadine Flood is in Tasmania on (Wednesday November 5) working with PSU Members on the campaign against Medicare privatisation.
More than 35,000 emails have already been sent to politicians expressing their deep concern at the proposal.
