Labour force: ABS job figures Dec 2014
From November to December the unemployment rate fell marginally from 6.9 to 6.8%.
For the same period the Tasmanian participation rate increased slightly from 61.6 to 61.7%.
Employed: total persons
The total number of people employed increased from 240, 900 to 241,700 during this time.
Employed full time: total persons
From November to December the total number of people in Tasmania employed full time was up from 152, 900 to 153,400.
Unemployed: total persons
For the reporting period the total number of unemployed people in our state dropped from 17,900 to 17,600.
The civilian population was also up from November to December, increasing from 420,000 to 420, 200.
Looking nationally, our unemployment rate was down 0.1% to 6.1% in December.
