APS Industrial Action

Department of Health & Veterans’ Affairs CPSU Members attended two meetings today in Hobart.

Across the country Community and Public Sector Union Members of both Commonwealth Agencies took industrial action in response to the Federal Government’s unfair bargaining policy that cuts conditions and jobs in exchange for very low wages. This action included taking a common lunch break and to set up an auto-reply email for inside their agency during this time.

CPSU National Secretary Nadine Flood said there was growing level of anger across the public sector workforce as a direct result of Minster Eric Abetz’s harsh and unworkable bargaining rules. “His rules force agencies to cut rights and conditions, living standards and jobs in return for annual pay offers of a maximum 1.5%,” Ms Flood said.
