Industrial action ramps up for Public Sector Union members
INDUSTRIAL action continued this week for Federal public sector workers in Human Services, Bureau of Meteorology, and Agriculture.
It comes as the Abbott Government and Employment Minister Eric Abetz direct departments to make these workers unfair bargaining offers, which will leave these workers worse off at work.
At a Hobart stopwork meeting on Monday Public Sector Union Tasmania regional secretary Jessica Munday told Human Services Members: “We would just like to talk to the Government and we would like to be able to negotiate genuinely. “We’re not at a point now that we can even be really discussing a quantum of pay when what they’re offering members is between zero and 1 per cent.”
