Long Service Leave credited after CPSU’s help

JUST shy of our Member’s anniversary date for Long Service Leave (LSL), they were contacted by the Department to advise that due to a period of part-time work some years ago, the Member wouldn’t be able to be credited with the full yearly allotment of LSL hours unless she took some unpaid time off.
The rules around LSL are somewhat inflexible and require that part-time workers accrue both paid and unpaid LSL hours each year based on their work pattern.  After some significant back and forth with the Department, our Member was finally able to waive their unpaid time and then be credited with her full paid LSL accrual, which is a great outcome.

The CPSU is there to help Members both individually and on larger scale group matters.
