On the federal front: more PSU members take industrial action
PSU MEMBERS in export meat processing plants across Australia are undertaking a succession of overtime bans and rolling one hour work stoppages, three days a week in response to proposed cuts to their rights, conditions and take-home pay.
These PSU Members provide a vital service to the Australian public, with inspectors and veterinarians in processing plants overseeing and certifying that all produce meets rigorous export and production standards.
CPSU National Secretary Nadine Flood said that this action was occurring at the same time that Immigration and Border Force, Agriculture, Veterans Affairs and other agencies were distributing one million protest flyers in international airports and other customer contact points to highlight the Abbott Government’s attack on their rights, conditions and take home pay.
