TasWater bargaining resumes
TASWATER and union representatives met in Campbell Town on Friday (August 7) to progress negotiations for a TasWater agreement. As Members would be aware as a result of a decision by Fair Work on the scope of this Agreement, we’re now negotiating three regional Agreements rather than one overarching Agreement.
As an opening to negotiations unions sought to rollover the current three Agreements, with wage increases of 2.8% per annum backdated to July 2014. This would ensure all current conditions remain.
In response TasWater tabled its opening position, which is based on the draft Agreement put forward for ballot in December 2014 but with some proposed changes. Find a copy of the TasWater Preliminary Log of Claims for the North West region and Southern region below.
Clearly there are still a number of issues that are felt strongly by Members in each region that haven’t been satisfactorily addressed but we’re hopeful those issues can be resolved in the next few weeks through an intense negotiation period. Fortnightly meetings are now scheduled in each region to work through the remaining issues.
The scheduled meetings are as follows:
August 24, September 7 & 21
August 25, September 8 & 22
August 26, September 9 & 23
The CPSU intends to schedule meetings with Members around these negotiation dates to ensure we understand the issues that remain outstanding in each region and to update Members on any progress.
