Support for Weekend Rates at Big Bash

SUNDAY saw another record crowd at Blundstone Area for the Big Bash T20 cricket.
Over 30 Save our Weekend volunteers were there to speak with cricket fans and asking them and their families to sign the Australian Unions petition to protect Weekend Rates.
Hazel from the CPSU Admin team went along, and said many people signed the petition, even if it didn’t have a direct impact on them. “Parents with kids signed because their kids could miss out in the future. Many passed by then did a double take back to sign the petition once they heard what it was about.”

Lyn from our Hobart office also helped on Sunday. She said “it was great to speak to so many people who already knew about the campaign and were following its progress”.
