Liberals promise 15 Rangers & Field Officers
THE Tasmanian Liberals announced that they’ll employ 15 more Rangers and Field Officers if they are elected on March 3.
More than 15 Parks and Wildlife Rangers are needed because our Parks are Overloved and Underfunded. If the Liberals have promised to upgrade Parks infrastructure around the state, they’ll need more Field Officers and Rangers to do it. The current Parks workforce is already overstretched.
The Liberals promised:
• $20 million to identify and construct Tasmania’s next multiday, hut-based bush-walk;
• $16 million for visitor infrastructure
• $8 million for maintenance
This compares to Labor, which announced an additional 30 Park Rangers and Parks system maintenance; and the Greens, who promised $40m for our Parks and Wildlife Service, sufficient to fund 30 more Rangers and Field officers and leave money to fund activities.
