Liberals ‘war on ice’
On Monday the Tasmanian Liberals promised more detector dogs and a special operations group for ice.
If elected, Police Minister Rene Hidding promised that the Liberals would invest in three additional drug-detector dogs and employ two specialist ice investigators in each region.
We all know it’s the workers behind the scenes that make our services happen. We would like to see investment in the support side of our emergency management services, as well as early intervention. Services such as the Police Radio Room, Operations Support and Forensics are the backbone of emergency management. These workers take your 000 calls and dispatch police to your emergency; ensure crimes are solved quickly so people can move on, man stations so Tasmanians can receive advice when and where they need it.
