Budget Rally: turn out next Wednesday

One last rally before the Budget and we need you to turn out. It’s a lunchtime rally not a stop work meeting so there shouldn’t be any issues with you taking your lunch break/flexitime/TOIL etc to attend.

Budgets are about choices. With Tasmania’s GST income rising by an average 3.5% per annum over the next 4 years the government can afford to fund real pay rises – but will they choose to?

Let’s send a clear message to Premier Will Hodgman and Treasurer Peter Gutwein that they shouldn’t be putting you last this budget.

Join your colleagues from across the public sector – rangers, nurses, midwives, health professionals, paramedics and fire fighters at the Rally. Hear what we expect to see in the Budget on Thursday.

We say no to wages that don’t keep up to the cost of living, we say no to trading-off conditions to fund basic wage rises and we say no to wage rises not being fully funded in the budget.

If you agree – come along to the Budget Rally next Wednesday – the day before Treasurer Peter Gutwein hands down the State Budget, in which we hope he won’t put workers last.

When: Next Wednesday, 22 May, 1pm.
Where: Parliament Lawns, Hobart
