Consultation – or lack thereof
We know when employers talk to workers, who know their jobs inside out, it makes for better decisions.
But we keep hearing about changes being pushed through without proper consultation. This means workers aren’t able to give their valuable input, which could help avoid mistakes and make sure changes are indeed worthwhile and implemented correctly.
Just last week we have two instances where consultation with workers has gone out the window.
The first, was CCTV cameras being installed in a worksite, including cameras in offices.
The second, was jobs being advertised without workers in the area, which was undergoing a restructure, even knowing.
Make sure you let your organiser know if you see changes with no consultation process.
