With cost-of-living biting, every penny counts. Your union recently updated allowances for workers covered by the Tasmanian State Service Award, Custodial Officers Award, Health and Human Services Award, Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority Award.
These allowances, which include both expense and wage related allowances, were backdated to the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2022 (apart from private vehicle allowance, which was applicable from the date of variation, 6 September 2023).
These increases don’t just happen. Your CPSU recently went to the Tasmanian Industrial Commission to make sure these allowances were increased.
There is another tranche of wage and expense related allowance increases yet to come, thanks to your union – stay tuned.
Employers don’t always allow increases happen out of the goodness of their hearts, it’s up to unions to make sure they go through so these allowances stay up to date. Another way the CPSU working for members.
