Results in: Parks & Wildlife Service Agreement Ballot

The results are in on your Parks & Wildlife Service Agreement. 79.2% of CPSU members who responded to our ballot voted to accept the offer and new Agreement.

Thank you to every union member who has worked tirelessly to get us to this point, including the Delegates who spent countless hours working to draft an improved, modernised Agreement leading to the in-principle Agreement reached in November last year. It also took action for us to get action, a valuable lesson in this Government’s current approach to negotiating Awards and Agreements for its own workforce.

After the Public Sector Industrial Relations Committee (PSIRC) forced the Department to backflip on the November in-principle Agreement, they didn’t expect Parks workers to stand up for themselves. You did, calling their bluff and proving you’re willing to take action to be treated with respect. You should all be very proud for what you’ve achieved.

Your new Agreement will now be drafted and then registered with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission before coming into effect. We will advise when this takes place.

It will include some translation arrangements around allowances, once registered we will ensure you have the information you need to ensure this is done fairly and according to the agreement struck.

If you have any questions or other feedback, don’t hesitate to get in touch at cpsu@tas.cpsu.com.au.
